Mission - Vision

Introduction

Founded by Lars Gustafsson, the BodyMind Institute will provide you as a student with courses delivered through interactive online media right through your computer at your convenience.

As a teacher the BodyMind Institute will provide you with the tools and support to deliver your courses online and to a worldwide market.

Our Mission Statement

The BodyMind Institute is producing and delivering educational courses, products and services from subject matter experts that are applicable in your life and the lives of those you know.

Our Purpose

The purpose of The BodyMind Institute is to:

  1. Create and deliver educational courses that are immediately applicable in the student’s life.
  2. Deliver high quality courses from educators, speakers, authors and institutions that are aligned with the overall culture and purpose of the Institute.

We are positioning the BodyMind Institute at the forefront of delivering education that is immediately applicable in its students’ lives.  We have a proven ability to adapt our courses ‘on the fly’ based on real life data obtained from our students.  This is a first in the industry, and gives our educators the ability to work with us on improving their courses when they receive new information without having to reprint textbooks and education material.

These updates add tremendous value to the students’ learning as they receive the latest information that is coming back from other students and teachers.

Over time, as the curriculum grows, there will be ‘cross filtering’ of information between courses.  Some segments of information may be useful in other courses and with permission from our teachers, these can be made instantly available as “bonus” materials.  For example, one course may contain a stress management segment with a destressing technique that could be made available in all of our other courses. This would broaden the the learning experience and provide students a taste of other courses being offered while giving them immediately applicable information.

Course Delivery

The media of choice is interactive video streaming through our web portal along with PDF handouts, voice over PowerPoint segments, activities and ongoing automated quizzes that immediately test the knowledge of the student.  As we become exposed to new technologies we will adapt our methods to incorporate what we need in response from our student feedback (e.g. DVD’s, CD’s, Audio, Webinars, etc.).  In class or ‘live’ presentations will always be foundational to teaching within the Institute and would offer a more traditional method of learning.  The live delivery format can be recorded in audio and video formats and be used to support the students learning and as added value to complimentary programs.

Baseline Requirements of all Programs Offered

The following are the baseline requirements for programs being offered through the Institute:

  • Information taught is current and aligned with our overall purpose and focus
  • Programs are kept current and up to date
  • The material is easy to use, to understand and is immediately applicable
  • All learning styles are addressed (Auditory, Visual and Kinesthetic)Baseline Requirements of all Programs Offered
Measuring results is a fundamental element of any successful business, especially educational institutions. From a student’s perspective, there are four basic levels of measurement:

  • Level One (Reaction) - Did they enjoy it?
  • Level Two (Learning) - Can they do it?
  • Level Three (Transfer) - Are they doing it?
  • Level Four (Impact) - What impact has it had?

The BodyMind Institute will focus on measuring all four levels.

To address Level One automated satisfaction feedback surveys can be utilized for every course within 1 week of completion.  For courses of a longer duration, a mid-point survey can also be conducted. The satisfaction rate will be set at 80%.  This process is also a mechanism to provide insight to areas that need improvement.  Our commitment to the students is that improvements and additional information will be added into the courses to ensure complete satisfaction and that the material is kept current.

To address Level Two tests, quizzes and assignments can be given throughout the courses.  There are standards set as to the frequency of the test/quizzes and the amount of assignments per course.  The passing score for tests/quizzes is set at 60%.

Level Three will be addressed through follow up work with students to find out where and how they are using the information from the courses.

Level Four will be measured through questionnaires and polls, along with analysis of various levels of impact courses are having on students' lives, their families, work and the communities they live in.
