Max's Foundational Movement Therapy™ story...

Helping Your Clients REGAIN LIFE!

If we can educate ourselves and then educate our clients about these fundamental movements, we are providing our client with a lifetime of therapy within a 6 -12 session time frame. As clients finalize their package, they’ll leave with a sense of empowerment and further understanding of their body’s mechanics. If they continue the Conscious movement protocols, they can effectively continuously provide themselves with a therapeutic effect.

What Our Grads Are Saying

Shane Melaugh

It has created hyper awareness of my body and other people bodies. It has given me a great deal more enthusiasm in terms of helping my clients. It's the beauty of the educational component of Foundational Movement therapy™, it truly teaches and empowers the clients as to why they're in pain in the first place, and how to resolve it. It's truly a root cause treatment... a labor of love AND you're compensated.

As a recent graduate of Foundational Movement Therapy™ Certification I have a deep understanding of body structure and movement. I also have the education and experience that enables me to assess each client uniquely so I can understand how to help optimize their health. As well as the ability to work with everything from injury rehab and chronic pain, to optimization of professional athletes. My focus is now to educate my clients on proper posture and movement patterns to alleviate strain on the body. My business has grown rapidly since graduation, it has been very easy to sell to the public a service that takes away pain in such a short time frame. My clients have seen an immense amount of value as they now have the ability to treat themselves and live a pain free life.

I have known Max Morin for 2 years now, and shadowed him for my Personal Training practicum. I really took an interest to how he was training his clients and assessing them.  I took the FMT course Aug 2016 and loved every minute of it. Max's instruction was informative and his hands on approach really helped me understand it and put it together.  I will be adding FMT to my present clients and future ones. Everyone can benefit from FMT. Max Morin is pioneering the movement industry.

FMT Career Benefits

Benefits of becoming a FMT Practitioner
After years of clinical experience, I created FMT and began my first years noticing how much more of my clients began appreciating the process. As Foundational Movement Therapy™ was still so new and the results so quick, referrals began to pouring in. As a FMT Practitioner, you’ll be bringing a whole new dimension, perspective, and value to your current practice.

Whether you are a Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer, Naturopath, Chiropractor…or etc., FMT can now become the missing piece you’ve been looking for when it comes to your practice, allowing you to provide your clients/ patients with the highest quality treatment. Once you’ve educated your clients, it’s up to them to maintain all the protocols you’ve instilled.

Once certified, do I have to build a practice from scratch?
Once Certified, you will have access to the Exercise Glossary on the Foundational Movement Institute webpage, that will give you access to all the therapeutic exercises. This is greatly beneficial when prescribing homework to your clients which allows you to give them a visual to follow, instead of only written instruction.

You will also be qualified to become a member of The FMT Portal system which was created so you can become integrated in FMT. With this membership, prospective clients will be able to find you based on your reviews, contact info, and location. This will allow you to market and promote yourself anywhere in the world, as well as help you generate client leads. You will also receive all the forms necessary to provide Initial intakes and structural assessments.

What is FMT?

Foundational Movement Therapy™ is a practice based on movements that illicit the tension systems of the body to neutralize. This is done by implementing FMT protocols that allow clients to become aware of their physical posturing from a moment to moment basis.

Structural pain is simple: The causalities are due to imbalances and improper alignment of bones. Through the FMT lens, it is imperative to restructure the tension system of the body by means of therapeutic exercise and conscious movement protocols in order to create proper alignment within the body’s joint systems.

As we go about our daily lives, we begin to develop habits. These habits manifest themselves physically in each moment as we carry our bodies from one postition to the other. Whether we’re chronic slouchers or hip walkers, these ingrained habits start to become unconscious. By becoming aware of the “proper” way to carry ourselves through our daily movements, we can correct these unconscious postures and relieve pain at its core.

The heart and soul of FMT is to address the clients’ walking, sitting, standing, sleeping and running habits. As we address these issues, we inevitably create structural alignment within the body. This in turn causes pain relief from a root cause perspective.

There are many modalities to turn to in order to help our bodies heal from trauma and accidents and we tend to seek out treatment that enables direct alignment of our bodies. This tends to be done via “The table perspective”; take for example you have a client who is suffering with lower back pain and has been for several years. The client has made the right choice of seeking treatment for it through a series of services (ie: chiropractor, physiotherapy, etc.). Each of these services are conducted on a treatment table 1-3 times per week.

What we are focused on as FMT Practitioners is what we are doing in between those 3 hours a week. There are 165 hours to be accounted for! This is where Foundational Movement Therapy™ comes in. We treat the body’s bad habits that are causing unwanted body pain and postures which stem from 5 fundamental every day movements.

As a Foundational Movement Therapist, there is little manual therapy provided. The concept is to enable the individual’s body to adapt to the new movement patterns. You’ll also have a large exercise glossary which comes with your course which I’ve developed over the years, through clinical experience. The exercises in adjunct to the conscious movement protocols will typically allow a client to obtain an average of 50% or more pain reduction in a single session. This reduction in pain is maintained as the individual continues their own designed program at home. By doing their Conscious Movement Protocols with Therapeutic exercise every day to every 2 days, the body will begin to develop correct movement patterns.
