Ho, Ho, Oh, No. The Holidays Are Here!

Many of us trying to make healthier lifestyle choices dread this time of year because it’s different. We shop more, sleep less, eat more, exercise less, and stress, stress, stress!

Rather than dread…look ahead! Try some of these tips to help you enjoy this holiday season.

Healthy and Natural Scrubs

Men, don’t stop reading! Your bodies take a beating from cold weather, sunny winter days, environmental toxins and stress, just like we women. One of the best things you can do is take care of your largest organ – your skin!

Another Way to Evaluate Your Health

It’s hard not to live and die(t) by the scale. As a professional, I know better, but will admit to falling into the trap of living by the numbers on the scale. However, I’ve learned just how defeating those numbers can be when used as the sole basis for my state of health.

Daily affirmation for positive thinking

I frequently talk with my clients about being positive and affirming themselves as they strive to regain and retain their personal vitality. I ask them to perform an Affirmation Exercise, where they look in the mirror and say something good about themselves – out loud and with lots of enthusiasm and vigor! Oftentimes I have them write these affirmations down and read them throughout the day, too. When trying to change a lifestyle, there can be bumps along the way, and having the ability to remain positive and feel good about yourself can be the difference between success and a less than healthy behavior.

End of Day Exercise

There is a great exercise you can walk through each evening, using only your mind! This method can help you shut down your thinking while preparing for sleep. For those of us who oftentimes review our day over and over as we try to sleep – give this a shot – it might help you sleep much better!
